There's Something About: Family Reunions

Every year, we go to the Major's family reunion. Everyone looks forward to it all summer. Family and friends come from Florida, and all over Long Island. My parents were even here from California one year. Everyone's invited!

This year's theme was country western. What perfect timing, since Tink was a cowgirl for Halloween last year. She was really the only one of us that dressed up.

Country western is not a fashion trend that I sport and I wasn't about to go out and buy a plaid shirt, boots and a hat for one party. Luckily, there were really cute straw cowboy hats available for us to wear. Perfect!

We set up one of our new bounce houses and everyone loved it! Hopefully, that will get us some future customers.

And, of course, we all enjoy the pool.

It's great to see faraway family members, but it's also nice to see more local family members that we don't actually see that often. The Major has cousins galore that probably all live within an hour's drive, but we hardly see any of them. We all know how busy everyone's lives are, and that's what makes this once-a-year reunion so nice; to see everyone, near and far. Cousins all get to play together, too. First cousins, second cousins, removed cousins - they're all there!

The food is always delicious, the company is always enjoyable, and we're already looking forward to next year's reunion. Until then, we all need some sleep!

  1. How fun! Looks like a great time. :)

  2. The little girl leaning over the clubhouse door looks like Tink!

  3. Love that they do one every year! So fun!
