There's Something About: Sunday Social - Week 60

It's still Sunday - I'm not late yet!

Sunday Social


1. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Ice cream.

2. What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
Ice cream.

3. What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
Hmm, I'm not that adventurous of an eater. With that said, I am half Japanese, so some people would think that the seaweed, or dried squid, or dried plums that I love would be weird/crazy. But it's all normal to me!

4. What foods do you avoid at all costs?
Bell peppers and onions. I've given them lots of chances, but I just don't like them. Although, tiny little red onions in salsa-type dishes are growing on me. But not peppers - yuck.

5. What meal reminds you of your childhood?
My mom's teriyaki spare ribs. Deeee-lish!
6. Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
I make a chicken stew type dish. My mother, of course, taught it to me years ago and I love it. My family, however, not so much; they're picky. So, unfortunately, I don't make it very often.

1-2 packages frozen veggies (I use California mix - broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)
1 can cream of broccoli soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 package of chicken tenderloins or breasts
About 1 cup of milk, give or take
salt and pepper to taste

Cut chicken into bite size pieces. Brown in deep skillet. I use a little salt and a lot of pepper. I like pepper. Add soups and enough milk to whatever consistency you like. Add frozen vegetables. I like a lot of veggies in my stew, so I use 2 packages, but 1 package is probably sufficient also. I cook to a low boil and make sure the vegetables are cooked. Then I serve over white rice or pasta. Enjoy!
