Hopefully, you've read my fitness story. It turns out, I needed a change in my workout routine. My own running and toning exercises were ok, but I was getting bored and wasn't quite maintaining as well as I wanted to.
I had been seeing some photos of friends on Facebook who do Cross Fit and I was getting very interested, so I started researching stuff online. With the Major's help, we found a local gym and I signed up for their introductory class. It was great. By the end of the week, I signed on the dotted line!
It's a little more costly than most typical gyms, but Cross Fit is not typical exercise! To me, it's like having a personal trainer in every class. I think that's the part I like the best - the motivation of the instructors and even from the other people in the class.

So, if you haven't figured it out, Cross Fit is part of what's been keeping me so busy lately. I signed up to go twice a week and sometimes it's been a bit of a struggle making sure I get to the gym for my workouts. I have to work around the kids baseball/softball schedules and the Major's flying schedule, plus my job. And there are only certain classes I can go to since I'm a beginner Cross Fit-ter (is that even a word?).
I know what some of you are thinking: why would I add to my already busy week? Well, after having my first baby, my dad told me that I had to make sure to take care of myself first or I wouldn't be able to take care of my child. I've never forgotten what he said and I think that I'm doing exactly that! And I'm showing my kids how important exercise is for maintaining your health. They ask me all the time, "How was the gym?" Or, "Don't you have to go to the gym today?" I think it's awesome!
Make sure you take care of yourself today!
