There's Something About: What I Miss

May 12th Prompt: What do you miss? (a person, a thing, a place, a time of your life...)

This is an easy one for me...

I grew up military and then married military, so I miss my family - my mom and dad, and my sister. I miss living near them. I probably see my parents about once a year, and my sister even less. Almost every family vacation we take is to California so we can see them and they can see us, I mean the grandchildren!

See - I'm not even in this picture. ;-)

My beautiful sister and me.

And speaking of California, I miss that, too. I miss having nice comfortable, sun-shiny weather most of the year, as opposed to just a few months out of the year. I miss driving an hour up to the mountains when we felt like playing in the snow and then going home afterwards to "normal" temperatures. I miss going to the beach year-around. I miss taking walks on the pier.

I miss my friends. They don't all live where we grew up, but they're a lot closer than I am. So, needless to say, I see them about once a year or less, too.

One of my favorite pics of me and my BFFs - LOVE them!

But, that's ok. If you know me, or have been reading my blog, I'm a pretty positive person. I know I'll see everyone again. And that's what email, texting, FaceTime, Skype, this blog, and all that other cool technology is for - keeping in touch with my family and friends, as much as our busy lives will allow!

  1. I always miss being close to family, I don't think you ever get used to that part of it.
