There's Something About: Daddy Being Home

It's been 1 month! We have had Daddy home for 1 full month. And it has been a month of bliss. We have all been happier with him home. It actually hasn't been as difficult to "re-integrate" as I thought it might be.

After a couple of days of adjusting to the time change, he jumped right in and has really helped out a lot. Helping to get the kids to the bus stop in the morning so I don't feel so rushed getting out of the house to get to work. And getting them off the bus in the afternoon so I can get a little extra time in at work. Helping with dinner and housework is so welcome, too.

Our little trip to Vegas was great. And as soon as we got home, he was back to doing more. First, he moved the elliptical, which we never use, out of our bedroom. Then, with Tink's birthday coming, he spent a week installing baseboard heating in our basement so we (the kids) don't have to freeze our little tushies off when we're all down there. I was beginning to forget what the basement looked like. But now it's nice and toasty!

He's been helping with my workout routine, too. Running and cardio only gets you so far, especially on a treadmill (ha ha!). So, he came up with an exercise plan to concentrate on my core, abs, legs and butt. Summertime - here we come!

And of course, there's the extra stuff, like game night with the boys.

But, alas, all good things must come to an end. He goes back to work next week. As a USAF pilot, he'll be on trips all the time. After 6 deployments, short TDYs are a walk in the park. And everything will be back to normal.
