Hubby was out of town this past week and supposed to come home on Friday, but any of you familiar with the military know things change - ALL THE TIME. Which means, he came home Saturday instead. But the timing was great because he was able to pick up Tink from her church function on his way home from the base, while I hung out with some friends at a Tupperware party!
But first, a Costco trip was in order. Who doesn't love Costco? Me. Although it probably depends on when you ask me. Growing up in southern California, things always seemed to be close by. But here on Long Island - not so much. Nonetheless, it had to be done. Supplies were getting low!
Thankfully, I timed it well as I decided to take Tink with me so I could drop her off at church on the way home. We were there early - that never happens! Score 1 for Mommy. Yay! Anyway, the Girls Club had a banquet featuring different foods from around the world and other clubs from churches in the area all represented a different country and brought food to share. Tink had a great time. She even plans on taking a pencil next year so she can write down all the different foods that were there. (She only tasted one thing and didn't like it.)
By the time I got home I had about 2 hours till the Tupperware party, so I figured I could squeeze in a run. You know how when you're in the middle of a good workout and you think, "I could squeeze in 10 more minutes"? No? Me neither, but it happened Saturday, and I was late to the Tupperware party! Oops.
Bought some stuff I thought I could use, but felt like I was cheating on my regular Tupperware consultant. Shhh! Don't tell. But who doesn't love Tupperware?!
After the party, and after Daddy picked up Tink from church, we had a couple of hours before heading over to our best neighbor's house for dinner. She's a great cook and the food was delish!
|Salad, chicken cutlets, penne alla vodka! Yum!|
Friday night I had baked cookies to take for dessert. I looked for a shamrock cookie cutter and couldn't find one. I had a small one, but didn't want to cut a thousand small shamrocks, so I made some dinosaurs (with a dinosaur sandwich cutter) and some hearts and stars, too. They all taste the same, right?
The kids had fun, like usual. What's better than playing with your friends all night? But Buzz, well, he found a comfy spot and played on his phone all night. At least he was with us.
And check out their beautiful dog. He's deaf, but we all still talk to him like he's not. He's so cute, and look how good he is.
