And boy oh boy, was it a busy one for me!
It started out okay on Friday (yes, the weekend starts on Friday). We had a bit of a snow storm and enjoyed Chinese food for dinner. Delish! Then Buzz showed off his shredding skillz! He started taking lessons back in October and has really excelled.
After Daddy dropped him off at youth group, we pretty much had a nice quiet evening. But I think that's where it ended - for me.
On Saturday, I made it out of bed early enough to do a mile and a half on the treadmill, but had to shower, change and wrap presents to make it to a baby shower. And what a great shower! Such cute decorations! The hostess explained to me that she hates to use "paper" decorations because they all end up in the trash. I'm going to have to keep this in mind for my next party. Recognize "Sheena"?
After the shower, I had to meet up with the rest of my family at church for a Royal Rangers Gold Medal of Achievement award ceremony and reception for 3 of the young men in our church. The GMA is equivalent to the Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts, so it's kind of a big deal. Anyhoo, it was a great event, with local town and county big-wigs, too. And the food was delicious!
While I was thoroughly enjoying my conversation with The Chatty Mommy (Looove her!), my husband reminded me that it was time to head off to our next event. Our best neighbor's youngest daughter was turning 4 and we were invited over for coffee and cake. Thankfully, hubby picked up a gift before church, and successfully picked out a present, with Tink's help, of course.
I love having great neighbors. In spite of "spring ahead" we were there till 1:00am. Needless to say, we were late for church on Sunday, but at least we made it! And then we came home and I caught up on I-don't-know-how-many loads of laundry. Yuck. I literally had 2-3 loads just piling up on the couch waiting to be folded. I know I'm not the only one!
After sewing on some new patches for hubby, we settled in to watch the second episode of "The Bible" which I am loving!
Oh yeah! And some wild turkeys stopped by to say hi. Yikes!
I really enjoying having stuff to do on the weekends. It makes me feel like my life isn't so boring after dealing with the day-to-day routine that is the work/school week. But after this weekend, I'm looking forward to the normal chaos that takes up our weekdays!
