Probably not anything I want to reveal publicly! Ok, just kidding.
But when I started this blog, I didn't want to just come out and tell everyone who I am, specifically. And if you found this blog on Facebook, then you probably already know who I am. But I'd still like to try and leave a little anonymity regarding who I am and who my family is. I'm specifically referring to my kids right now. Yes, I post their photos, but I don't really want to use their names.
So, maybe the two-and-a-half of you that actually read my blog can help me come up with some nicknames. We already have family nicknames, but I'm not sure they work.
My oldest son is 14 years old and really smart. For some reason, my husband and I started calling him "dude" before he was even a year old. It kind of stuck. We still call him "dude" every so often. But actually typing, "Dude got braces last Saturday," just sounds weird.
My daughter is 8 years old and is the middle child. She's been called pretty girl, baby girl, princess girl, and most other "typical" little girl nicknames. These just sound boring and unoriginal, which she is neither.
My youngest son just turned 6 years old but he's almost bigger than my daughter! He was a big baby, and just seemed like he was always BIG. And who doesn't love fat babies? We ended up calling him "fatboy." And by no means his he fat, but it's a term of endearment that we love and he doesn't seem to mind either. When he does, I guess we'll stop. And I feel like I would have to explain myself when referring to "fatboy" so people don't think I'm a terrible mother!
I even thought of using A1, A2 and A3, respectively, but that seems impersonal.
For now I'll continue to use oldest, daughter, youngest, or whatever I feel like calling them at the time. However, should any of you have any ideas of how to refer to my kids, feel free to leave me some ideas. Just be nice!!
